On July 9, the Permanent Representation of Monaco to the Council of Europe held its annual reception in honour of the 19th anniversary of H.S.H. Prince Albert II’s accession to the throne.
The reception, which assembled members of the 46 delegations as well as its Secretariat, was the occasion to announce the forthcoming 20th anniversary celebrations of Monaco’s accession to the Council of Europe.
To mark the anniversary, an exhibition will review the historical accession process, from the first draft admission proposal in 1949, and showcase the Principality’s commitment to defending human rights, the rule of law and democracy, the three pillars of the Council.
An innovative crowdsourced work by artist Mr OneTeas, along with a film made from archive footage will also be part of the exhibition, which will be held in the foyer of the Palais de l’Europe from 2 to 31 October 2024.
